9TH ANNUAL CHILDREN’S SABBATH OBSERVANCE

  • Big Bethel Will Observe Children’s Sabbath with Oct. 25 Forum Focusing on Foster Care and Adoption

Our friends at Big Bethel AME Church, located at 220 Auburn Avenue in downtown Atlanta, will observe Children’s Sabbath this coming weekend. As part of that observance, on Saturday, October 25, from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, they will hold a forum based on the theme, Build Healthy Families by Building Healthy Children.

The forum will feature professionals from a variety of agencies and organizations that are involved with getting children placed in safe, secure and healthy homes. They will be sharing information on the ins and outs of foster care and adoption.

Rev. Bessie Donaldson, who will chair the forum, writes that she hopes the forum will “help us celebrate as we strive to raise the awareness of the need to give our babies healthy and loving homes so that they may become all that God has called them to become.” She adds,

Your presence will indicate that you support our efforts and at the same time let the participants know that you embrace this journey as we attempt to ease the pain and hurt that so many children and youth suffer because of being displaced. We look forward to seeing you either Saturday for the Forum and/or for worship that will also focus on the same. Please consider being with us as we join thousands of congregations across the nation in raising awareness and addressing issues plaguing our children on a daily basis. They have no voice, be we do. We must be their voice.

For further information please contact Rev. Donaldson, (404) 579-9407.
